The 2nd Landscape Management Special Class which has been implemented by Takeuchi Teien Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the National University of Laos (NUOL) and LJI, utilizing the AOTS Industry-Academia collaborative Program has concluded. The closing ceremony held on July 9 was attended by Dr. Ounla SIVANPHENG, Vice President of NUOL and Mr. Noriyuki TAKEUCHI, CEO of Takeuchi Teien Co., Ltd., along with students and teachers from Faculties of Architecture and Forestry of NUOL.
In this program, following a lecture on landscape gardening by Mr. Takeuchi, students engaged in a design practicum focusing on the courtyards of the Faculty of Architecture and LJI; gardens were then constructed based on the students’ designs. For the LJI courtyard, a new garden was created—inspired by Mount Fuji and the Mekong River—following the Japanese garden installed at the entrance last year.
Additionally, at the closing ceremony, three students were announced as candidates for an internship in Japan; they are scheduled to begin their internship at Takeuchi Teien Co., Ltd. in September.
Regarding students who participated in the program’s internships in Japan or Laos last year, two got jobs at Japanese landscaping companies, while another two were hired by the local subsidiary of Takeuchi Teien Co., Ltd. One of the students who joined Takeuchi Teien Co., Ltd. in Japan has since gone on to play an active role internationally, including working on the design of a park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
