Dr. Phonekeo Chanthamaly, Acting Director of LJI, said that: In response to recent changes in social needs and business environment, LJI developed the Business Development Program as a new service that supports existing companies, especially the SMEs, and the Start-Ups. This program aims to generate model companies and start-ups, which material their new, innovative business initiatives that develop Made-in-Laos products/services and/or to deal with social challenges.
With LJI SUSU, there will be two tracks of business support, one to support Startups and another one to support Scale-ups of the existing business. With the two tracks, LJI SUSU offers the following services.
  • Mentoring and advice: Project participants will receive practical advice and mentorship from experts in specific areas and general business strategies from startup and scaleup.
  • Learning, information, and networking: Learning and networking events will be organized among the fellow participants and with successful/front-runner entrepreneurs, which will enable great learning and motivational opportunities for all participants.
  • Opportunities in accessing finance and grants: Pitch events will be organized as opportunities to link with financiers and investors. Additional support for preparing documents required by financial institutions or grant supporters will also be extended.
